Root canal treatment

Each tooth consists of hard and soft tooth tissue. Root canal treatment is the treatment of the soft tooth tissue. When caries penetrates through all layers of hard dental tissue, it opens the path for bacteria to reach the pulp which causes inflammation of the inside of the tooth, accompanied by severe pain. The inflamed nerve should be removed and the dental canals cleaned and filled.

The root canal or endodontic treatment is completely painless with the use of local anaesthesia and with the aid of the apex locator, the only device that completely accurately measures the length of root canals. Root canals are filled with thermoplastic material, which is a prerequisite for quality treatment. A well-treated tooth can one day be a worthy bearer of a future prosthetic construction.
